Since marketing the original small gearmotor circa 1929 for use in animated displays, the company has specialized in small motors and gearmotors generally less than 1/10th horsepower, commonly known as sub-fractionals. These products have been essential in the development and success of countless commercial, industrial and consumer products.

Merkle-Korff operates three modern manufacturing facilities in the Midwestern United States, has a high volume gearmotor production facility in central Mexico and has recently added production capability in Asia. Value added services are available as well. All North American facilities including Mexico are ISO 9001/2000 registered operations.
